Our People
Robert Blathwayt
Manager and Viticulturist, Robert originally heralds from Masterton and has been working with us for ten years.
Matt Harper
Vineyard Worker. Matt is a local and has been involved in all aspects of vineyard for many years.
Nick Thornton
Consulting Viticulturist. Nick established the Pirinoa vineyard and was our manager until retirement in 2006.
Peter Croft
Peter retired from his city role as a Managing Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2002 to concentrate on the vineyard full time. As the vineyard increases its production, Peter’s main task will be in the sales and marketing area.
Peter and May have two adult children, Hannah (with husband Nick) and James (engaged to Hannah) who both currently live in London. Life can be confusing with two Hannah’s!!!
May Croft
May is the Anglican Archdeacon of the Wairarapa and the Anglican Parish Priest of the South Wairarapa.
This leaves little time for vineyard activity. However, when time does permit May can be found amongst the Pinot Gris (hence the “Vicars Glebe”) in the Home Block.
James Croft
James has played an important role in helping establish the stylish and distinctive branding of Croft Wines found on our bottles, boxes and brochures.
James also has his own business in property.
